Groundwater provides drinking water to at least 50% of the global population. Groundwater supplies are diminishing.

Every day, 2 million tons of human waste is disposed of in water courses.
Over 80% of wastewater is not collected or treated worldwide.
In developing countries, 70 % of industrial waste is dumped untreated into water supplies.
